SALERNO EXCURSION

Salerno is a modern industrial port that has grown in size since World War II.It was the site of the Allied landing in September 1943. The Sicilian-Norman style cathedral in the old town centre is certanly worth a visit, with its magnificent bronze doors , a pulpit and the tomb of the Pope Gregory VII.
