The day went very well - Vincenzo was excellent - everyone really liked him and he worked really well with Steve and let everyone wander around on their own. The lunch place was great with a fabulous view of the coast - the best lunch of the three for sure. We had some pretty spectacular weather - torrential downpours for some of the day, which made the bus ride interesting!!! - but it cleared quite nicely for a couple of hours just when we were touring the gardens.

As a Professor of International Business, I have spent much of my life travelling. As someone who has studied courses in Roman archaeology, Marilyn has a special interest in the Bay of Naples. We would like to thank Vincenzo for his outstanding assistance as a guide to the many historic sites in this region. Pompeii and Herculaneum
Our excellent local guide, Enrico, helped to stimulate the magination, providing a picture of day-to-day life
in Pompeii.
Nearby Herculaneum (Ercolano) was an interesting contrast. While Pompeii was covered in ash from the eruption of esuvius in AD 79, most of the ancient city of Herculaneum was buried by volcanic mud, which effectively provided an airtight seal over the city.
